Rajesh Mehta, M.D.

Rajesh Mehta, MD, is a skilled, board-certified gastroenterologist & hepatologistat Lone Star Gastroenterology in Austin, Texas. The practice is affiliated with Boston Scientific. He has more than 30 years of experience treating gastroenterology (GI) patients.

Dr. Mehta earned his medical degree at Shri M.P. Shah Government Medical College at Jamnagar in Gujarat, India. He completed his internship at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, and his residency at Cook County Hospital (now the John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County) in Chicago. Dr. Mehta finished his training with a fellowship at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.

He’s double board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Mehta received the Best Gastroenterologist in the Ohio Valley award for nine consecutive years and earned the Patient Safety Excellence Award. He served as an assistant professor at the Department of Internal Medicine at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Dr. Mehta is affiliated with Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital in Austin, Ascension Seton Southwest Hospital in Travis County, Ascension Seton Hays Hospital in Hays County, and Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas in Austin.

He cares for his patients as if they were his own family and uses the most up-to-date, advanced technologies and procedures. He speaks English and Hindi.

In his free time, Dr. Mehta enjoys spending time with his wife, also a physician, and their three children. He enjoys playing racquetball, table tennis, and participating in outdoor activities.
